Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review & Giveaway

Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil - 32 oz.

By now you’ve heard that coconut oil is not an evil saturated fat and that it is, in fact good for you. If you’re new to traditional foods and to the concept of healthy fats, maybe even a little fat-phobic, check out the research behind coconut oil. My family has been regularly consuming coconut oil since 2005 and we’ve gone through more gallons than I can recall. Yes, I said gallons! We use it in everything from cooking, to baking, to skin care, to eating it right off the spoon. It is so versatile.

Tropical Traditions was my first experience with coconut oil and I was hooked from the very first sniff. You see, I am a self-confessed coconut addict and the fresh coconut scent of Tropical Traditions coconut oil made me very happy. It tastes smooth and creamy and the Virgin Coconut Oil gives food a lovely hint of coconut flavor.

Coconut oil can be used in place of any other oil in cooking and baking. It has a high smoke point so it is wonderful for frying. I love how moist it makes muffins when used in baking. I literally go into a panic when I am almost out and haven’t reordered yet! Yes, I am a little insane about it!

I want to win this because I love Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil and use it everyday! I cook with it (great for frying eggs, fish, chicken, whatever!), make yummy recipes (today I made coconut cream bite size treats using coconut oil, coconut cream, shredded coconut, vanilla, and drizzling with baking chocolate – stored in fridge). I also use CO for a skin moisturizer.
    Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

I am a total coconut oil covert- both in the kitchen and for homemade beauty products. My favorite thing is using it in my homemade granola because it causes it to clump together like the store bought kind!

I love coconut oil! I don’t use any other oil anymore…I have begun to use it in my hair on on my skin and things are improving so much! I would use this jar in my shower. I would love to have a jar in every room of my house! Right now I just split up the jar I have. Before I get out of the shower before my pores close up, I like to go ahead and put it all over my body, the step out! My skin has never been so soft!

I have not used coconut oil yet but fully intend to. I have been researching about the benefits of substituting the oils I currently use with coconut oil and how it may help with dementia. If changing the way I cook and bake will help my Dad even a little bit, it will be well worth it.

I am so glad that I found your web site. I love coconut oil! I have to say though, that I feel it is getting too expensive for my family right now. What with the upcoming furloughs at my husband’s job, we are cutting back everywhere. Help! How can I convince him this is a necessary expense? BTW, found you through Tropical Traditions.

Jessica, I am so glad you found us!! Tropical Traditions has a ton of research on their site about coconut oil and its health benefits. I would direct him there and share with him all of the amazing research going on! I would be lost without coconut oil! It is so beneficial in so many aspects of my life. I cook with it, use it on my skin, make soap and other personal care products with it, feed it to my pet…and so much more. Hopefully you can convince him that the extra cost now will cut medical costs in the future. Good luck!

I use coconut oil for practically everything! In my area, 16oz jars go for $10-$17. I keep looking for opportunities to buy in larger quantities. Aside from cooking, baking and nutritional supplement, I also practice oil pulling, use coconut oil on my skin and hair, as a facial cleanser and underarm deodorant.
