Honey is a Superfood! {Le Creuset Honey Stoneware Pot Giveaway}

Le Creuset Honey Pot, Dijon

Honey is amazing! I have 60 pounds of raw, unfiltered honey from my local farmer sitting on my kitchen chair right now! I never allow us to run out.
Raw honey is full of enzymes, vitamins and other essential nutrients that heated honey does not have. It is also anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial.
Local honey is a wonderful remedy for seasonal allergies. The bees pollinate the local flowers and trees and they you eat the honey. It’s like your own personal allergy shot!
Some of my favorite herbal remedies contain honey. Elderberry elixir is half honey and half brandy with herbs and is a powerful cold remedy. Honey and lemon tea with a little fresh ginger is wonderful for sore throats, coughs, and digestive upset.
Wounds, burns, and other skin irritations can greatly benefit from raw honey. One of the best varieties of honey for treating burns is the best Manuka honey. It is highly prized for its healing ability.
Check out this resource from Farmer’s Pal to find local honey.
I hope you have a great source of local honey because I am giving away a Le Creuset Honey Pot to put it in!

    I use honey in baking a lot, it works really well with nut flours.

    This is a lovely honey pot (one of my favorite colors) and my favorite hot drink is Earl Grey and raw honey… mmmm. I would love to be able to have our own bee hives but I am afraid of them so I stick with supporting the local beekeepers who are much braver than I am.

    My favorite way to use honey is in plain yogurt, with a some Grape-Nuts stirred in for crunch. Yummy.

    I adore honey and have been searching for a good way to keep it handy. I didn’t know Le Creuset made these cute little honey pots! Thanks for the chance to win one.
